Standard Trekking Plan

Strenuous trek which requires some high altitude trekking experience . A Unique chance to see tribal culture of Kinnaur. Inner line permit required for Non- Indians and Indians have to register themselves at ITBP check post. A Valid ID is required.

Day 1: Takeover from Delhi airport and 4 hrs of journey for CHANDIGARH. Overnight stay at CHANDIGARH.

Day 2: Reaching SHIMLA -traveling through SHIVALIK MOUNTAIN RANGE.

Day 3: Reaching Reacong Peo-this is long but scenic journey-you will be traveling on OLD SILK ROUTE. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4: Obtaining PERMIT and traveling to THANGI which is 2 hrs drive.

Day 5: Rest Day and short walks for proper acclimatization.

Day 6: Thangi-Lambar: Trail gradually ascends to village Lambar which is a small village with ITBP check post at 2890m.

Day 7: Lambar-Surting: Surting is a small high land and here meets two river streams forming Lambar river. A high tech ITBP post at 3150m , will check your papers as they already had been intimated by Lambar and Thangi posts about movement of trekkers.

Day 8: Surting to Charang: Walking Time 3hrs.> Charang is famous for it's monastery Rest Day for proper rest and acclimatization. This ia parallel walk and you will enjoy the scene.

Day 9: Charang to Below Lalanti Pass: This is moderate level of ascending and we will camp below LALANTI PASS.

Day 10: Reaching Lalanti : : Lalanti is a high altitude shepherd pastures and snow leopard is also seen here in winters. This area is also famous for Ibex. trail ascends gradually to Lalanti 4420m.

Day 11: Short walk to base of pass. Most walk is on moraine and boulders.

Day 12: Rest Day- next day have to cross pass- and a descending to Chitkul Valley.

Day 13: Lalanti-Chitkul via Charang La (5260m) : Walking Time 8-9 hrs. Hard day, should be early started. Walking though impressive terminal moraine, negotiating 200m of steep climb to pass from where spectacular view of Gharwal and Sangla Valley is seen. Descending is steep upto 200m and then becomes gradual to Chitkul 3450m which is also a read head.

Day 14: Reaching SHIMLA- we shall be starting early from CHITKUL and by evening we shall be reaching SHIMLA.

Day 15: Reaching Delhi
